Behavior & Husbandry
Randall’s Assessor Basslets are known for their fascinating behavior, often hovering beneath ledges or swimming upside down around caves and overhangs. This unique behavior is completely natural and makes them one of the most interesting fish to observe in a reef aquarium.
They prefer aquariums with plenty of rockwork, caves, and shaded areas where they can feel secure. While initially shy, they typically become more visible as they settle into their environment.
