Behavior & Husbandry
Randall’s Gobies spend most of their time near their burrow, often forming a symbiotic partnership with pistol shrimp. The goby acts as a lookout while the shrimp maintains the burrow, creating one of the most fascinating natural behaviors in the hobby.
They do best in aquariums with sand beds and stable rockwork. A peaceful environment with plenty of hiding places will help them feel secure and display natural behavior.
Like many gobies, they may jump if startled, so a secure lid is recommended.
